The sequel to martial art comedy Local Kung Fu is finally under production.
Released three years ago, Local Kung Fu has pioneered in creating a fanbase which was never seen for an Assamese film. Produced under the budget of just INR 95,000, the film has already received cult status among the youngsters of the state. Whether it is the number one under-eighteen din Bonzo or the poop jokes, you will never be able to stop laughing even in repeat watch.
There has been speculation about the sequel for quite sometime, and finally the production house, Kuhipaat Films, has confirmed that they are indeed making the sequel. Local Kung Fu 2 will see the return of all of the major characters including director Kenny Basumatary. It will be one of the few sequels produced for Assamese films, other sequels announced include Bisnu (sequel of Bokul), and Durjon 2 (sequel of Durjon), current status of latter is unknown.
